Until further notice, this episode is likely titled, “The Sterilization of Judy Simpson” (am waiting to hear from David Soul to confirm). Owen Marshall: Counselor at Law was a television series from 1971-1974 and starred Arthur Hill. This particular episode originally aired February 16, 1974.

I can remember watching this series before David became a regular. Lee Majors was playing the part of Owen’s assistant but got the role of The Six Million Dollar Man and left the show, David became his replacement. Oh my, I was so thrilled to see my beloved “Joshua Bolt” once again in a regular series. David’s character of Ted Warrick always showed the softer side of how a lawyer should be, truely caring and compassionate for his clients. Hope to see more episodes of this series co-starring David, I know there were quite a few. Thank you once again for this little stroll down memory lane, it was very delightful!!!!!
The early 70′s were tumultuous times and when this show aired, Roe v Wade, making abortion legal in the US, had already been in effect for only one year. As a pro-life advocate, my interest was instantly peaked when I saw the title. I found it amazing that this show tackled the controversial matter of sterilzation in ‘certain circumstances’ on prime time TV in 1974. The character of Dr. Barris had Margaret Sanger written all over her. Scary. I know I watched Owen Marshall on a regular basis, so I must have seen this episode.I was just entering my teens when this show aired, however the seriousness of the subject matter likely did not sink in back then.
Thanks for sharing this!! David’s genuine compassion for people sure comes through in his portrayal of this young lawyer
I thoroughly enjoyed this episode, thank you for posting this on your Birthday Laura! What a lovely gift for everyone.

I’ve never seen this series either. Are there more episodes with David in them?
Thanks for sharing this.
Crossing my fingers that David Soul approves this!
I know that he might feel……………so long time ago. Let him reconsider, part of being famous. We (I) adore.
And love this. Thanks.
Never seen this program back in the 70′s. I enjoyed watching this episode. I guess I missed a good tv show back then.
